NALP Data
I am pleased to announce that NALP, the National Association for Law Placement, has given us our official report of employment data for the class that graduated in 2006. According to NALP, of our 226 students, 100% responded to the survey. A full 88.6% were employed and another 1.4% were pursuing another degree on a full-time basis, for a total of 90% engaged in those two activities. The reporting rates and the employment rates are not only consistent with our historical rates, but better than the class that graduated in 2005. Our Communications Office will be publicizing this through a press release as well.
As you may know, our Law School, like all accredited law schools, provides the NALP data to the ABA on annual basis. The US News & World Report rankings are based in part on the ABA date, but US News has its own formula for calculating “employment.” (“Employed” is, for these purposes, a term of art, and there are differences in how NALP and the ABA, as compared to US News, counts various categories, including non-respondents.)
Please join me in once again commending Assistant Dean Krystal Gardner, whose leadership in this effort has produced our excellent results. Thank you for your attention.
